DZ Advisory is a private client firm specialising in be-spoke consultancy to HNWI, ultra-HNWI and family offices who are seeking to relocate, invest or expand their businesses and personal wealth in a financially stable EU country.
For this project, we were presented with a unique canvas – a 420 sqm floor plate wrapped in glass at ten floors above street level, offering 360 views over central Malta. Informed by the geometry of The Quad Central’s architecture, soft curves were used in order to define the spaces, making movement a flowing and intuitive affair. The client’s brief quickly translated into an exercise of managing this flow – both for regular users and visiting guests. The main channel of this flow coalesced into a “loop corridor” flanked on both sides by usable workspaces and other amenities.
Clear delineation between guest and employee spaces was a core principle of the client’s brief. Although many materials are common throughout the whole office, different treatments for the flooring and the ceiling were used to alter the mood of the spaces as necessary. Guest spaces use an elegant, dark marble tile for the flooring and incorporate white soffits for the ceilings. Employee spaces shift to a less formal stone tile for floors and sprayed exposed services at ceiling level.
The area outside the loop is taken up by a series of outward looking offices while the area inside the loop is dedicated to storage, printing areas and wet areas. At the front end of the loop, guests can directly access the reception, waiting areas and boardrooms. On the opposite end, one finds the employee workstations and the south facing kitchenette with direct access to the terrace.
